Submitting the applications and the documents to the regional immigration services bureau. (※)

Average Term for Examination of Application : 2 weeks - 1 month

* The regional immigration services bureau accepts application form from three months before the expiration date.

If new residency card is issued before current expiration date

Change of Status of Residence:
From the day following the date of issuance of new residency card
Extension of Period of Stay:
From the day following the expiration date of current period of stay

If new residency card is issued within "Special Exception" period

Change of Status of Residence & Extension of Period of Stay:
From the day following the date of issuance of new residency card

Extension of Period of Stay:
If the period of stay expires on a Saturday, Sunday, public holiday or a day that is equated with a public holiday in accordance with the existing legislation (December 29 - January 3), the period of stay shall be extended to the next working day.
Change of Status of Residence：the same as above
