Naturalization
<APPLICATION PROCEDURES>
- 1Prior consultation at our office to verify the fitness of the general requirements of "Naturalization".
- 2Prior consultation with an administrator of the Legal Affairs Bureau or the Regional Legal Affairs Bureau. (Point 1)
- 3Preparing the applications and the required documents. (Point 2)
- 4Filing the applications and the documents to the Legal Affairs Bureau or the Regional Legal Affairs Bureau. (Point 1)
Point 1
We accompany to the Legal Affairs Bureau or the Regional Legal Affairs Bureau for your prior consultation and filing the documents.
Point 2
Our Office pursues these procedures on behalf of clients.
An interview is usually set up by the Legal Affairs Bureau or the Regional Legal Affairs Bureau upon the filing of required applications and documents, and may be then requested to file additional documents for proceeding further application procedures. It usually takes approximately one year to obtain permission after filing.

If the naturalization procedure is permitted by the Ministry of Justice, the applicant’s current name, address and date of birth are published in the Gazette. The permission shall take effect on the date of the publication.
Permanent Resident
