A foreigner is dispatched by a foreign religious organization.
  • A case for a foreigner belonging to a foreign religious organization.
  • A case for a foreigner not belonging to any foreign religious organization.
  • The religious organization which a foreigner belongs to needs not be the headquarters.

※ An applicant submits a copy of the dispatched letter or the letter of recommendation in order to prove the validity of his/her dispatching.

A foreigner engages in religious activities in Japan.
  • An applicant is also able to engage in activities which are related to religious activities such as sales of goods necessary for religious ceremonies as an employee of a religious organization.
  • However, if an applicant is engaged in miscellaneous duties in a religious organization, the status of residence will not be granted.
  • Furthermore, if an applicant is engaged in activities as a follower, the status of residence will not be granted.
  • The base of religious activities should be secured and located in Japan.
